Hello, my name is Daniel Kim, I am currently a rising senior at UC Berkeley! I am majoring in Media Studies and am pursuing a career in photojournalism. This spring, I am heading over to CNN digital to serve as the photo intern at the world headquarters in Atlanta. Last semester I served as a photo intern at the San Francisco Examiner and was previously the Executive Photo Editor and a senior staff photographer at the Daily Californian.

At the San Francisco Examiner, I covered a multitude of newsworthy events such as national breaking news that transpired in San Fransisco and also in the Alameda and San Mateo counties.

During my time at the Daily Californian, I covered a breadth of news coverage: the most notable being the re-emergence of the free speech movement on the UC Berkeley campus. Such photos have been featured nationally at news organizations such as the San Francisco Chronicle, SFGATE, Houston Chronicle, Fresno Bee, NBC Bay Area, ABC, Daily Wire, and etcetera. Additionally, at the Daily Californian I covered sports, features, arts and entertainment and more!

Also, during this summer I interned in the newsroom at the Pleasanton Weekly covering news in the Tri-Valley Region in the Bay Area; as a photo intern, I served as a staff photographer and primarily covered hyper-local news.

Additionally, in the past, I have also interned at Portland Government and Portland Parks and Recreation.
